Black Fashion Fund Launches 1st Crowdfunding Campaign to Start Paid Internship Program
All Funds Will Be Allocated To An Internship Program For Students and Creative Businesses

CLEVELAND, Nov. 2, 2021—National nonprofit organization, Black Fashion Fund, launches this week a crowdfunding campaign to provide 10 young Black students in the fashion industry with financial support to jump-start their careers. The campaign runs through January 2022.

​“We are happy to see highly creative and thriving Black professionals in the industry, but the diversity gap is still immense. With this crowdfunding campaign, we hope to give young and underrepresented individuals the tools to help them feel prepared, inspired and motivated to pursue their career goals,” says Ruby Emofovwah, Executive Director of the Black Fashion Fund. “Ultimately, we want to widen the opportunity gap between minorities and recreate a world that promotes inclusivity amongst all creative mediums,” she adds.

Each of the 10 students will receive the financial backing for the following efforts:

• A 10-week paid internship with highly regarded industry professionals and brands
• Professional resume and career services
